An integral programmatic component within ISPS is International Sponsored Student Services, which supports over 45 sponsoring agencies and approximately 250 sponsored students annually. International Sponsored Student Services provides the following assistance to agencies and their students for a nominal administrative fee:
Services Offered to Sponsored Students and Agencies include:
- Designated sponsored student coordinator.
- Provides third party billing, individual student invoices, and maintains comprehensive financial accounting system.
- Assists students in fulfilling the requirements of his or her sponsor.
- Provides sponsors with transcripts and grade reports as requested.
- Provides personalized one-on-one advising services to students, including immigration, taxation, budgeting, academic and personal issues.
- Serves as a liaison with undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic departments and the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL).
- Conducts special orientations, assist with airport pickup and housing arrangements for new sponsored students.
- Coordinates sponsor site visits and arranges special programs at the request of sponsoring agencies.
- Maintains comprehensive database to monitor student academic progress and nonimmigrant status.
- Provides communication services between agencies and sponsored students, including the use of office fax, telephone and express mail services for sponsorship related matters.
