What You Need To Do:- Step 1: Submit all required documents to the ISPS front desk
- Step 2: Wait for email from ISPS (if you don’t hear from ISPS after 10 business days of submission, call at 621-4627 to check your application status)
- Step 3: Pick up new I-20s (for yourself and dependents) at the ISPS front desk
- Step 4: J-2 dependent obtains an J-2 visa (check with the nearest U.S. Consulate or Embassy about procedure)
- Step 5: Bring a copy of stamped J-2 Form DS2019, J-2 visa (except for Canadians), Form I-94, and passport to ISPS as soon as any dependents have entered the U.S.
Note 1: Normal processing time at ISPS is 10 business days after receipt of complete documents
Note 2: J-1 student must notify ISPS if his or her J-2 dependent is no longer maintaining an J-2 status (e.g., change of status approved, departure from the U.S., etc.) Note 3: All changes in the J-1 status will automatically reflect on the J-2 status (e.g., termination, program extension, change of address, etc.) Note 4: If DS2019 was issued by other than UA, then please consult with your program sponsor on requirements to bring dependents to the US |
